Hi, I’m Rusty! I’m a very lovely, intelligent youngster looking for an active home to continue my training and have lots of adventures. I am very friendly and sociable and love nothing more than playing with my toys or cuddling beside my owner.
Energy Requirements: This youngster is full of energy. He is used to 3 lead walks a day but could benefit from some free running once recall has been established. He also requires playtime and activities to use his brain.
Training: Rusty pulls a little on the lead and has never been walked off-lead so will need a commitment to training to address his pulling and develop recall.
Visiting the vet: Vaccinations next due in August 2025. He has had his health check and is a fit young dog. He will be adopted with a contract to be neutered once old enough.
Travelling: He travels well in the car clipped into a seat.
Food: Currently eats dried dog food with a little meat, and chews for a treat.
Sleep: He sleeps very well on the end of owner’s bed.
Behavioural issues: Rusty has a little separation anxiety, so would do best with a home who can gradually help him feel more comfortable.
Home needs: As he is friendly and sociable he could be rehomed with other dogs or as a lone dog within a loving family. As he is a bouncy youngster, a commitment to training, and good local dog walking opportunities would be preferred. He will need someone around much of the time, who can work with him on his separation anxiety.
Ongoing support: Springer Rescue for Scotland will be available for any support with your new dog and can offer behavioural support in case of any problems that may arise on adopting a dog.
