A little bit about Lexie – Lexie is a lovely, affectionate and very active girl. She can be described as boisterous and busy but also contented. She loves human contact and enjoys snuggling up on the couch for plenty of attention. She plays with her tug rope every now and again but not overly concerned with toys. She will always bring a slipper or shoe to greet you at the door. Lexie loves being out in the garden regularly throughout the day.

Energy Requirements: Lexie needs regular interesting walks, she particularly likes walking in the woods, parks etc. She loves a little splash around in water and visits to the beach.

Training: Lexie is very responsive to commands, and really likes to please. She can sit and stay and would respond well to further training. She struggles with focus when out on walks, she is so overwhelmed with excitement. She will need time to develop better recall.

Visiting the vet: Lexie has had her health check and is very fit and healthy. Her vaccinations are up to date. She is in excellent condition.

Travelling: Lexie gets excited in the car; she wants to see everything going on! She travels with a harness and seat belt in the back seat.

Food: Lexie is currently being fed Harrington’s grain free dry dog food , but prefers it moistened with gravy rather than dry and she likes treats such as apples, carrots, pedigree chum and chopped liver for training purposes.

Sleep: Lexie sleeps in her own bed on the landing and sleeps all night.

Behavioural issues: She is known to do a bit of counter surfing.

Home needs: Lexie needs an active home, with someone around most of the time. She needs humans who are invested in her training and can introduce her gradually to new environments and interesting walks. A very secure garden is a must. She would be fine with another dog but was previously fine as the only dog in the home. Older children would be fine, she is a bit too bouncy for younger children. She would probably chase cats. She will also chase birds.

Ongoing support: Springer Rescue for Scotland will be available for any support with your new dog and can offer behavioural support in case of any problems that may arise on adopting a dog.
