A little bit about Jill – Jill came in to foster as a very young pup and was very timid. She has had a steep learning curve, being introduced to lots of new experiences. She is still timid, and easily frightened. She likes playing with toys and romping about in the undergrowth with her foster mates.

Energy Requirements:  Jill is currently getting exercise commensurate with her age, and this can increase as she grows.

Training:  Jill is now house-trained. She has been learning new commands in foster. At the moment she doesn’t stray far and likes to be close to her fosterer and is happy to follow her fosterers dogs and play. She is quick to learn.

Visiting the vet: Jill is up to date with her vaccinations and has had her full healthcheck. She is microchipped. She is fit and well. Jill will be adopted with a contract to be spayed when old enough.

Travelling:  Jill is still getting used to travelling by car. She curls up and not a peep! She drools a bit but not excessively, has been up to an hour travelling and been fine. She travels in a crate or with seatbelt harness.

Food: currently on 3 feeds a day, with Ava puppy food. She has it warmed and moistened. Jill loves her food and the occasional tasty treat. She will sit and wait before tucking in.

Sleep:  Jill currently sleeps in her crate in the kitchen, she takes herself off to bed. She is a very quiet pup in the house.

Behavioural issues:  Very timid, especially when outside, she will try to avoid people and is very scared meeting dogs she doesn’t know. Risk of bolting if not on the lead.

Home needs: Jill needs a quiet but active home and will need canine companionship to give her confidence. She would be best in a rural or semi-rural area, as she is still getting used to built-up busy areas.  She will need an owner who is around most of the day, and who is committed to her training and continuing socialisation. Older children would be fine. A safe secure garden would be essential.

Ongoing support: Springer Rescue for Scotland will be available for any support with your new dog and can offer behavioural support in case of any problems that may arise on adopting a dog.
