2024 Wrap Up

We simply couldn't do what we do without the team of volunteers we have, we are incredibly grateful to have them as part of our team and every home visit, spaniel smuggle or dog assessment makes a difference.

Our final figures for 2024 are as follows.

  • Rehomed 2024 - 55

  • Permanent Foster - 3

  • Foster With a View Placements - 1

  • Available to Adopt - 2

  • Waiting to Come In - 5

  • In Foster - 6

We've  increased the Dog Coordinator team due to the volume of surrender enquiries we've been receiving, appointed a full time Foster With a View Coordinator to help place dogs when we've been near capacity in foster, and vital support has been added to the rehoming team finding suitable homes, as usual there was a mix of breeds, shown below.

Our drive to bring on new foster homes was a success and some have already fostered their first dog, with others due to get them in the new year.

Our fundraising efforts have included both old favourites and new events we've been in Morrisons, Tesco, attended Ayr Flower Show.  Lots of events in the pipeline for 2025 - Kiltwalk sign ups are now open if anyone is interested in joining those already signed up.  Christina and Dawn are doing ALL 4 Kiltwalks with Gillian and Sharon joining them for the Mighty Stride in Glasgow.  We have also maintained our partnership with Pets at Home Aberdeen Beach and Ayr.  There may be a cycling challenge around Arran too from Chris and Louise!  Every penny goes directly to help dogs, fundraising can be anything from shaking a bucket at your local Tesco to doing 4 x 23 mile walks and everything in between.

Adoption applications have followed the same trend as previous years, and our wonderful Area Coordinators and Admin volunteers have kept pace processing applications swiftly.

Our volunteer education Zoom sessions proved to be a success and we want to repeat these and expand on them in 2025.

The new website has had most of the creases ironed out and the feedback has been very positive, our thanks to those who made it all happen.

We enter 2025 in a very fortunate position and we remain able to say yes to dogs who need rehomed including those who have more complex needs with behavioural and medical support.  An exciting new partnership will be announced in January aiming to provide a smoother transition into foster and forever homes.
