Hi, I’m Iorsa! Pronounced Airsa. I’m a very lovely oldie. Please don’t be put off by my age, I’m really quite active and I’m a real sweetheart. Everyone says I could pass for half my age!  I am a contented, happy and quiet soul. I don’t always act my age, and I still get excited about going for walks and meeting new people. I am a cuddle monster and love a belly rub. I will make a great companion.

Energy Requirements:  Iorsa can manage regular gentle walks of up to an hour.  She also likes to play ball.

Training:  Iorsa is very good on her lead with only occasional pulling. . She has good recall with a pip of a whistle.

Visiting the vet:  Iorsa will be adopted with a contract to be neutered after her next season. Vaccinations are next due in June 2025. She is not keen on being groomed around her back end. She is very fit for her age.

Travelling: Iorsa travels well in the boot clipped on and with a dog guard. When a journey first starts she does cry, but soon settles and is quiet.

Food:  Iorsa currently gets kibble.

Sleep:  Iorsa likes to settle down wherever she wants, she is used to a choice of beds; in the living room and the bedroom. She is also quite partial to cuddling up to humans on the sofa.

Behavioural issues:  Iorsa has some degree of separation anxiety and likes to have both human and canine company. She is not keen on small white dogs, especially when she is on season. Her only downfall (and it is minute) is that she barks for 10-20 seconds when she gets excited ahead of a walk and her bark is a cross between a normal dog and a beagle!

Home needs:  Iorsa is used to living with another spaniel and would like some friendly canine company in her new home. She will need someone around most of the day. A quiet location with easy walks close by would be ideal. And she would like a garden to potter around in.

Note Iorsa and Ness lived together previously but are in separate foster homes. It is intended to rehome them separately but there is an option to rehome together.

Ongoing support:  Springer Rescue for Scotland will be available for any support with your new dog and can offer behavioural support in case of any problems that may arise on adopting a dog.
