Bracken and Toby are a bonded pair of lovely Springer Spaniels and we would like them to be rehomed together. They come from the same litter and have always been together.

They have come into rescue through sad circumstances and are looking for a new home with people who can continue their training, and ensure they have lots of exercise and company.

Bracken is described as nervous, but happy. Toby is described as busy and happy.

Both dogs are used to older children and play well with them. Both dogs are happy to meet people when outside, but Bracken can be wary of strangers coming into the house and can take a little longer to engage. They have lived with a cat but will chase cats when out walking. They have also lived with another dog, a Labrador, and are currently in foster with a resident dog.

Toby likes to swim and loves a muddy puddle. They will chase birds and are not to be trusted around livestock as he thinks they are to play with. Bracken also likes swimming and muddy puddles and is happy to have a bath.

Both dogs pull on the lead at first but walk much better with a figure of 8 or a Gentle Leader. They both have good recall. They are both clicker trained and respond to the whistle. Both dogs are crate trained. Both dogs travel well in the car, in the back with a dog guard.

Bracken needs company, is submissive and shy. He likes to play ball. Toby is the bigger dog and is the more confident one.  They are not barkers in general and have never shown any aggression. They both like a cuddle but Toby doesn’t like Bracken getting attention and will push him out of the way given the chance.

Note: We are looking for experienced owners for this bonded pair, who will continue their training and let them thrive. A semi-rural or rural home would be ideal, with a large, enclosed garden, and safe walks nearby whilst ensuring the safety of livestock and wildlife. Someone at home most of the time would be ideal, but they can be left for short periods. They could live with other dogs once introduced.
