Special Homes
Some Springers will have had such bad experiences in their previous lives that they have major behavioural problems. These dogs will never be offered for re-homing until they have been thoroughly assessed, and a remedial programme put in place. These unfortunate dogs need to go to a home that will be able to continue with this programme, and with experienced and sympathetic owners who will understand that they may never have the relaxed, affectionate dog that is the normal Springer.
As with any SRS dog, you will always have access to the support and skills of our Co-ordinators. With a dog needing ongoing remedial behavioural work, we will help with the planning and organising of this, and may be able to offer financial support for training classes etc.
If you feel that you can provide a special home, if you have already registered with us to adopt, and you see a dog on this page that you would like to know more about, please get in touch on 07875 140485, or contact . If you are not yet registered with us, but feel that you could offer a special home, then please come and find out more by visiting our How to Adopt page.
Remember, these Springers requiring special homes are, thankfully, few and far between. Sometimes we will have none of these dogs in our care. If you feel that you could offer a special home, and are prepared to wait until the dog that needs you comes along, we would be delighted to hear from you.
